'To make visible how the world touches us'
- Paul Cezanne
(favourite quote)
BRIGHT and VIBRANT art serves as a window into my approach to life, encapsulating a philosophy that embraces positivity and enthusiasm. Each stroke of colour is deliberate, embodying the belief that life is to be experienced in its fullest spectrum.
Megan lives in Shoal Bay, Port Stephens NSW and paints everyday. Typically known for her Australian themed paintings, along with her bold floral artworks; with a generous use of luscious coloured brush strokes of acrylic paint, onto large scale canvases.
The artwork is definitely a direct response from her environment. Scenes that we all experience, capture her attention, drawing the viewer in to focus on and explore the moment. Such as, going bush walking and seeing the Australian fauna and wildlife; the visual delights that snorkelling offers; actually seeing the local octopus in its home; going to the beach, with the colourful umbrellas and beach towels; visiting the flower shop or simply enjoying a vase of fresh flowers. By using sketches and photography for her observational studies, Megan will collage the moments together to construct a narrative.
Her work addresses ways of celebrating life. The aim is to create images so others can visually share the passion and optimism.
